Our Pastor
Pastor Reginald Davis, Sr.Bishop Reginald J. Davis is a native of New York, NY. He is the son of the late Mother Hazeline Davis and Joseph R. Davis. Raised and educated in New York and North Carolina, Bishop Davis was brought to Christ saved under the ministries of Chief Apostle William L. Bonner of Greater Refuge Temple of New York, NY and Bishop Rufus Hargrove of Greater Refuge Church of Henderson, NC. A major influence on his life has been his grandmother, Mother Annie Pierce. Her testimony and life has left an indelible mark upon his life.
Pastor Davis served Bishop Hargrove and the Greater Refuge Church in Henderson for a number of years and in a number of capacities. In 1990, Pastor Davis was ordained an elder in the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ. Shortly thereafter, Bishop Hargrove appointed him as assistant pastor. 1995, Bishop Hargrove founded Refuge Temple Church in Burlington, NC. Shortly, thereafter, Bishop Hargrove sent Pastor Davis, his wife, Charity Davis and their son, Reginald Joel Davis, II to work with this fledgling congregation. Pastor Davis was appointed senior pastor in 1996.
The work in Burlington, NC has been nothing short of miraculous. Beginning with a charter membership of eight, Refuge Temple now serves hundreds of souls who come from over 20 different cities from the Triangle, the Triad, southern Virginia. In 2013, Refuge Temple purchased a spacious, newly renovated facility with a sanctuary seating over 400+ people and located in the heart of Burlington.
Pastor Davis has served and continues to serve the body of Christ in a number of capacities. From 1992-1998, he served as International President of the Young People’s Union of the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ. In 2001, he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Education. In 2005, he was appointed as Advisor to the Youth Department, providing leadership to the International ABYPU, Sunday School Association and International Congress. In 2009, he was appointed as a district elder in the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ. In 2012, Pastor Davis was consecrated as bishop and was appointed bishop of the Dominican Republic. In 2014, Pastor Davis was appointed as bishop of the Leeward Islands Diocese that includes the Dominican Republic, St. Kitts and St. Lucia. In 2017, Bishop Davis was appointed Director of the Caribbean for Global Missions and Chief of Staff of the International Board of Bishops of COOLJC. Bishop Davis provides support and mentoring to pastors and leaders across the country. His ministry has taken him throughout the United States and to Canada, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom and Israel. He is a sought after evangelist, conference speaker, workshop facilitator and bible teacher.
Professionally, Bishop Davis is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, holding a bachelors degree and masters degree in Education. He retired in 2013 after a successful career as a teacher and principal. After a brief hiatus, he returned to the educational field. He is currently working as a Credit Recovery Coordinator and Teacher Evaluator.
Bishop Davis is married to Lady Charity Davis, an anointed psalmist, speaker and global missionary. They the blessed parents of two biological children, (Reginald Joel Davis, II and Geneva Andreal Davis), several adopted children.
